About the project
Nearly one in four users will abandon a mobile app after using it just once. Good onboarding makes a great first impression, gives users a guided introduction, and can significantly improve user retention. We decided to tackle the app intro with a novel approach. When users open the app, they’ll be greeted by a psychadelic video, slowly morphing into different portals or “worlds” that reference the different types of communities at Popshop. This is meant to introduce or give the user a sneak peak at what type of content to expect. Since one of Popshop’s main brand trait is animation, users will immediately realize the purpose of the app as soon as they open it.
